Twenty Four Hours Of Sun Shine On Norway Tourism

Are you ready for a vacation full of interesting, new and beautiful destinations? If you feel you’ve seen enough of Europe and tropical islands, maybe it’s time for a new kind of adventure. A visit to Norway will provide you with exciting experiences you will remember for a lifetime.

Norway probably isn’t the first country that comes to mind when you are thinking of where to travel on vacation, but it really has a lot to offer. Its location lends it to many different experiences that you simply can’t have in most other places.

The fact that Norway is located so far north means that it has some very long days. It is known as the Land of the Midnight Sun because of the fact that during some months of the year the sun is visible twenty four hours a day! This means that you can see and do more, because you don’t have to do it before it gets dark!

Of course one of the main things people interested in Norway tourism want to see is the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. During the night in the months of October, February and March you can see the sky light up with the most spectacular light show nature has to offer. Shades of red, green and purple fill the sky in a breathtaking show.

Being in the land of the great Vikings is a treat. You can visit museums to see artifacts and learn more about these great traders and pirates. See the famous ships they built which are one of the wonders of history.

After the ice age, melting glaciers formed fjords, which are u-shaped valleys that are filled with sea water. They are absolutely gorgeous and there are more of these in Norway than any other country. They make a fabulous destination in Norway tourism.

In the winter months you can enjoy some of the traditional winter activities of Norway such as a ride on a sled pulled by dogs or even reindeer! You can also enjoy some fantastic skiing of whichever kind you like, alpine, cross country or even telemark. You can ski down some beautiful glaciers, something you aren’t able to do in most other countries.

You can take part in many different types of recreational activities in Norway. Hiking, camping, fishing, visiting waterfalls, walking on glaciers, these are all experiences you can have in Norway besides seeing some of the other tourist destinations.

There is much to see and do in Norway. Although you may not know much about the country now, after you travel there and see all that it has to offer you are sure to think of Norway as one of the wonderful countries of the world and you might find yourself wanting to go back!
